The first day of the 2012 NFL Draft is complete, which means rookies are now available in Madden Ultimate Team packs for Madden NFL 12.
Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Trent Richardson and dozens of other NFL rookies were added into packs as the draft unfolded. However, Seattle Seahawks first round pick Bruce Irvin was not among those added due to “not being on their list.”
Six of the top draft picks (including Luck) were given “Future Stars” status, giving them higher ratings than the rest of the rookies.
Rookie packs collected in Madden NFL 12 can also be transferred to Madden NFL 13 as well.
Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and other top rookies will soon be playable in Madden NFL 12 via the game’s Ultimate Team mode.
EA Sports is expected to release 30 rookie cards and six Future Stars cards as the actual 2012 NFL Draft unfolds on April 26. Future Star cards are rated higher than the other rookies and will likely be designated to top the draft picks. The cards can also be imported to Madden NFL 13.
The decision to add rookies to Madden NFL 12’s Ultimate Team could entice gamers to spend a few more bucks on the game before Madden NFL 13 comes out in August.
More details on the draft day additions are available on the Madden NFL blog.

Many experts have predicted this game to be a close one between both teams, however this particular simulation bucks that trend. ESPN’s Chris Berman breaks it down in the video above.
