EA Sports Extends Exclusive License with FIFA
EA and FIFA have agreed to extend their exclusive license until December 31, 2022.
Under the agreement, EA keeps exclusive rights to FIFA-branded games, which includes exclusive rights to release the official FIFA World Cup video game.
The news comes a day after EA announced that FIFA 13 sold 14.5 million units through March.
Madden, NBA 2K13 and FIFA 13 Among Top Selling Games of 2012
Three sports titles made the list of the United States’ top 10 selling video games of 2012.
According to a report by research firm NPD Group, Madden NFL 13 ranked second on the list behind Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which holds the top spot.
NBA 2K13 was the sixth best selling title, while FIFA 13 rounded out the list at number 10.
For all of 2012, total game sales dropped 22 percent to $13.26 billion.

FIFA Ultimate Team Now Available for iOS Devices
Owners of FIFA 13 for iOS devices can now access FIFA Ultimate Team through a downloadable expansion app.
The free app enables users to build, manage and compete with their own fantasy team, just like the console and PC versions.
The app is available for download on the Apple App Store.
Trio of Sports Games for Wii U Now Available
Nintendo’s Wii U is now out with a number of sports titles being released to coincide with the launch of the console.
Madden NFL 13, NBA 2K13 and FIFA 13 are all available in North America for $59.99.
NBA 2K13 and FIFA 13 is expected to be released globally at a later date. EA Sports has no plans to release Madden NFL 13 outside of North America.
FIFA 13 Gets First Title Update
EA Sports has released the first FIFA 13 update for PC users, addressing several issues with the game.
Some of the notable fixes include connection stability in Online Seasons, hangs and freezes in Career Mode and the removal of legacy defending and passing assistance options in Pro Clubs.
The complete list of fixes can be viewed here. The update is expected to be released for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 users over the weekend.
FIFA 13 and PES 2013 Now Available
Both FIFA 13 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 are now available in North America.
The two titles have received mostly positive reviews, with FIFA 13 receiving a Metacritic score of 90 and PES 2013 getting a Metacritic score of 82.
FIFA 13 is expected to be released in Australia on Thursday and in Europe on Friday. PES 2013 is available worldwide.
Madden NFL 13, NBA 2K13 Among Wii U Launch Titles
Nintendo announced today that the Wii U console will go on sale this November in North America and Europe.
Over 50 titles are expected to be released when the Wii U hits stores, including Madden NFL 13, NBA 2K13 and FIFA 13 (all three games were previously announced).
The console will come in a version with 8 GB of memory for $299.99 and a 32 GB version will also be available for $349.99.
